Your child's feet grow imperceptibly. To determine the correct shoe size, remember a few things:

 

  • the foot should be relaxed;
  • make sure that the heel fits against the back of the shoe;
  • press the thumb lightly to check if there is about half an inch between the toes and the end of the shoe;
  • if your child is very small, open the shoes as much as possible and push the foot forward as far as possible;
  • if you can insert your finger into the space between the heel and the inside of the back of the shoe, this is the right size;
  • do not forget to try on both the right and left shoe, because often children's feet are slightly different from each other.

 

WHEN YOU SHOULD BUY NEW SHOES

 

Children's feet are constantly changing. It is important to monitor their growth, it is often uneven.

As a rule, new shoes should be bought:

 

  • from 1 to 3 years every 40 days, approximately 2 months;
  • from 3 to 6 years approximately every 3-4 months;
  • from 6 to 10 years approximately every 4-5 months.

  • after taking off the shoes, let them dry outside, keep them away from direct sunlight, which can cause their fading, and from heat sources such as hair dryers and heaters, which can make the leather of the shoes twisted and stiff;
  • a little newspaper can be useful to reduce the amount of moisture inside the shoe and keep it in good condition;
  • allow your child to wear at least two pairs of shoes per season, alternating them to prevent the proliferation of bacteria and microorganisms;
  • practical removable shoe insoles can be an alternative;
  • a good habit is to wear different shoes at home and on the street.
